I went to the Dr yesterday for my pelvic exam, and she found a cervical polyp. She also told me I have lumpy breasts. A mammogram and ultrasound have been ordered. We're not worried about the polyp or the lumps, because (she says) the polyp looks totally benign and I told her my boobs feel the same as they always did and I do regular self-exams to make sure nothing has changed. I do have a uterine fibroid, however, which might explain why my periods have become less consistent and more painful over the last year or so.  <div><br /></div><div>Between the evil socialist health care plan, Darren's work insurance, and the ODSP benefits he receives, we haven't had to pay for any doctor visits or prescriptions (except Nasonex and my birth control, which might change soon) in months. This includes my monthly B-12 shots and my asthma medications (Advair is $120 per month if I take it twice a day, which I wasn't because it was too expensive before). It also covers my antidepressants.</div><div><br /></div><div>I was considering getting my tubes tied so I can stop being on birth control; however, that would mean that my cramps would come back full-strength and I don't want that. Darren has volunteered to get a vasectomy, but if I have to stay on birth control anyway, why bother? Though, I could switch to a pill form that's covered by insurance. That way I can reap the benefits without worrying about whether I might get pregnant. I really do not want kids. </div><div><br /></div><div>So I'll update with the results of my ultrasound, mammogram and pap smear if there's anything exciting to report. </div>Wed, 24 Feb 2010 19:01:31 GMThttp://www.sarkasmo.net/post/46273097/Heres-an-update-thats-longer-than-Twitterurn:www-soup-io:1:46273097regular Oops, it's a she.
