Because this is a cat that doesn't give a shit. A nap had to be taken RIGHT THEN, and she was the one for the job, even if it meant she had to anchor herself with claws to stay on top of the pile of blankets and pillows.

Sitting in a comfy chair, listening to the 11th Sookie book, and knitting...while Packet wreaks havoc on the computer desk.
True Blood starts 6/25. I'm so glad the books are so different from the series. It's like getting twice the story.

Could be playful, could be murderous.
Packet loves this chair. I do, too. I bought it over 10 years ago, and she's been sharpening her claws on it and climbing it for 8.5 of those years. It should be marketed as 98% cat-proof (there are a couple of threads sticking out). Anyway, one of Packet's favorite games is 'MAKE THE CHAIR MORE FUN!', which involves me putting my fingers anywhere near the back of the chair so she can slice them into ribbons.

Day 4: a rousing game of KILL-IT
Packet likes when I tap my fingers on this chair because it makes very interesting tappity noises. And just to prove that she's smarter than I give her credit for, she knows to keep her claws *in* when she bats at my hand, otherwise I'll stop playing.

Mountain of yarn on top of a cat in a computer chair
Packet and I both prefer that computer chair, so when she sits in it I make a point of tormenting her. She's not a very cuddly-needy cat, so it's pretty funny to see what she'll put up with before she has to escape with her dignity.

I thought she was looking at the camera. Or, maybe she is and I don't know how to aim. Either way, today wasn't an inspired day for photography because I spent too much time in my pajamas playing with the computer and with the rest of the yarn for my mom's sweater.

Packet is SO BRAVE!
We asked a lot of her this weekend, but she was great. She and Katie got along, and Packet even sat on the air mattress that Katie was sleeping on--while Katie was on it! Maybe she really was listening last week when I kept telling her that Aunt Katie was going to visit soon.
