Packet is eager to help with the plying
She made sure to sit right on my spindle so it wouldn't go anywhere. Even if I wanted it to.

I finished casting these off and seaming them right after the US Men's Basketball team won gold. My part is finished; my sister will get to felt her own slippers. :)
I can't believe I finished these in less than two days.
Spinal Tap DVD included for scale.

Mister models the purple socks
You can move your feet now.
Seriously, you don't need ME to show off your socks. This is getting old, Mommy. I have butt-licking to do, and I don't need all of Ravelry to see that.

Stop putting your feet near my face
Just because I wake you up by sticking my feet on your face doesn't mean I like it.

Felted clog, redux
I think that's what redux means. Anyway, I ripped out my previous clog and made this. I'm hoping the remaining yarn is enough for a second clog. Lens cap is shown for scale. The focus is all wonky in this photo, and I'm sorry. I was in a hurry. This pair of clogs (if I have eough yarn) will be for my sister. I plan to send them to her like this with instructions for felting them. Her feet aren't the same size as mine, so I don't want to felt them for her.

Invisible cast-on
So I finally kinda figured out the invisible cast-on from Knittinghelp.com - the one that seems too easy to be true - and I think if I tighten up the stitches next time I can get it to look neater. Shown also is one of my hi-tech dishrag needles: I stick point protectors on the ends of DPNs because that's all I need for 21 sts. Bigger needles just get in my way. Normally I just use the long-tail cast-on, but this time I got wild.

I've already started the second. Made with size 4 needles using a giant skein of Bernat Cotton. I actually finished this yesterday, but didn't get around to uploading until today.

Sock progress
My fingertips are all rather pink. See the color of the cable on my circs? That's an Addi Turbo. Not an Addi Lace. It's supposed to be gold.

Ravelympics WIP no. 1 down
All I had to do was weave in the ends and take FO pictures. Only one FO picture turned out well thanks to my thick ankles and Mister's tendency to sit between me and the camera during timer shots.
I used Wendy Johnson's toe-up gusset heels, which fit fabulously. The only problem is that I intended these socks to be for my mom (her feet are two sizes smaller than mine), but they fit me. On the one hand, I'm thrilled to have another pair of socks for myself, but on the other, Ma doesn't have as many pairs of handknit socks as I do. Plus, these are perfect in just about every way. The stripes MATCH. That was completely unintended, and I didn't notice until they were finished.
