Socks for Tess
Using sock yarn sent to me by auntieknits quite a while ago (sorry it took so long!). I don't like the focus on this one. I'll have to take another when the light is good.

WIP - socks
I've been working on these for a while, but haven't gotten around to taking any pictures of them. Almost done!

Sock yarn choices
Gonna see which one my sister prefers (for the knitters who are wondering, we have Dizzy Blonde Yarns in the JenLa colorway, Knit Picks Essential in the Lantana colorway, and Sunshine Yarns in the Daring colorway).

365.071 - Dad's socks, take 3
Switched to the largest size (82 stitches) and a 3x3 rib. Despite each sock being 82 stitches, the socks are progressing more quickly than I expected.

365.068 - After (a 4-day break)
I missed taking pictures Tuesday - Friday of this week. Oh, well. They wouldn't have been exciting, anyway. I spent that time wrestling with Ubuntu. Today, I decided to stick with Windows for now and wrestle with my dad's socks, instead.

365.063 - Before the frog
These are the socks I'm making for Dad, in their first incarnation. Today I decided, after getting to the heels, that they're too skinny and too short, so I ripped them out completely and started over anew. Part of me hates losing all that work; part of me doesn't mind a bit because I'm a process knitter.

365.060 - Fine, I'll model your socks.
Packet is so sweet, isn't she? So I finished Ma's socks, and I hope they're the right size this time. The slip-stitch heel is tricky to guesstimate - for me, at least.

Ma's socks
Started, frogged, and restarted. I'm pretty confident I got the size right this time. I'll finish in the next couple of days and should be able to mail these off very soon.

365.043 - My Tuesday
Yesterday slipped away from me. At the end of it, these were the things that took up the whole day: the phone (we got a bluetooth dongle to help with managing the phone's files), Ma's socks, and Packet.

Monkeys, take two
Finished my Monkey socks last night while watching reruns of CSI: MIami. This morning I wove in the ends and took my FO pictures.

I've been trying not to post duplicate photos or almost-duplicate photos, but I couldn't help it this time. I like the shadows cast by the pattern.

365.042 - Finished my monkeys
I knit them toe-up and used Wendy Johnson's toe-up gusset with slip-stitch heels. Yarn is KPPPM from the lovely and wonderful Wen. They were made on size 0 Knit Picks Harmony needles. I do adore the feel of Koigu.

365.039 - Monkey heels
I rewound the remaining yarn into center-pull balls and stuffed them into the socks, and now the socks stand up on their own. KPPPM likes to be all tangly, and this KIND OF helps. This is a catch-up photo. I did nothing yesterday, and I took no pictures. I failed at 365, but I blame it on my lack of a life and I'm not going to quit yet.

365.022 - Decisions, decisions
Getting ready to sit in front of the TV for a few minutes and...wait, did I want to work on the Monkeys or spin some yarn? Mrrrh!

365.018 - A farewell to feet
I love this yarn (Koigu, a gift from the lovely Wen), and I love my new Knit Picks Harmony sock needles, but these socks don't want to be plain stockinette. The next time you see this sock yarn, it'll be sporting some nice lace, I think. Or maybe it'll be mittens. No, it's so soft and sproingy. Socks.

7 Days, Day 1 - Absolutely no plans
Yesterday was my birthday (*kazoo!*) and I got some money, so I went to Zellers and found a pair of pajamas with mittens all over them. Mitten pajamas and handknit socks. I may not put on real clothes all day.

Mmm, socks. I love knitting socks.
I even kind of wish I were still a DPN girl, just because socks look better on DPNs. I don't think I'll go that far, though...at least, not with stockinette.
