7 Days, Day 7: FOs Spiral Shawl and 7 Days
In knitterly circles, FO = Finished Object. I finished a shawl and another installment of 7 days, so this photo does double duty (I think I already did that for my Day 2, too).

7 Days, Day 6
I'm sleeping right under the ratty old towel of the new cat shelf (no Packet right now). Actually, I'm not sleeping at all. I'm a big faker. I'll probably be staying up until dawn again. If I go to sleep at dawn, I can manage 6 or 8 hours of sleep. If I go to bed any other time, I sleep for 3-4 hours.

7 Days, day 4 - cat shelf
Today's big excitement (for me, anyway; hopefully for Packet) was the installation of a cat shelf to expand the windowsill in the bedroom. Darren's dad is a building manager for a local company, so he was able to donate a partial roll of grippy tape so that Packet doesn't jump up there and slide off the other side.

365.075 - Tess straightened my hair
My hair didn't like being straightened. You could practically hear it trying to suck moisture from the air and sproing back into curls. I didn't mind it at all, because I'll sit through just about anything as long as someone's playing with my hair. Packet was unaffected by the change, but Darren said, 'Your hair looks really....flat.' The curls are back now.

365.072 - Stre-e-etch
I saw a couple of other 365-ers doing this, and I needed a good stretch, anyway. Just reaching the floor has never been a challenge, except on my worst days, and even then it just takes a few minutes to get there. I don't even know if this is a valid stretch position; I just know it helps plant my hands while really stretching out my hamstrings and lower back.

365.070 Princess Packet, indeed
Packet's one remaining throwback to the days when she would sit on my shoulder or my head and let me walk around the house: She will step from her spot on the yarn dresser onto my back, if I bend over, and she'll stand on my back while I transport her where she wants to go. She has good sea-legs, I'll give her that, especially for a cat who's afraid to jump up on things if she can't see the tops of them.

365.069 - Blue screens make my heart race
And not in a good way, even when the blue screen is a good thing. I reinstalled XP last night, and now I'm in the middle of downloading/updating all my favorite programs to get back in the swing of things. The computer is definitely running better now. Ubuntu didn't agree with me.

Darren sees me doing this and tells me to stop chewing on my hair. I'm not. I like to rub it on my lips. I actually do that with lots of soft things. So there.

She doesn't give kisses like Mister does. She just smells your breath to see if you've eaten anything interesting lately. So weird. I love her, though.

Jenn had stuff to do in Ottawa today, so we visited the nation's capital and went to places I hadn't been before - the Byward Market and Sparks Street. I love it there. And beavertails are OMG yummy.
